Blog moment
08.22.25 I have recently started reading the Wheel of Time series! You can check my progress on Goodreads. So far, I am really really enjoying it. I has given me the same vibe as when I started the Stormlight Archive last year. Essentially the first book was an adventure bringing-something-to-somewhere sort of fantasy book à la LOTR etc. Many people had issues with this, calling it derivative, a copycat, etc, but I personally loved it. People also say it starts out super slow and difficult, but honestly, as far as fantasy books go, it wasn't too bad. There's a lot of worldbuilding throughout the whole book, but it is interspersed with lots of character work and adventurous plot.
In other news, I have been doing Literally Everything that I was once interested in. For example, I have restarted learning French with Anki, been listening to music, doing Rubik's Cube, etc. This is mostly due to my dissatisfaction with the state of social media. I think that Tiktok is losing steam since they can't seem to make any good decisions recently (re: new TOS, messing with the algorithm, etc). Also, I think a bit of the reason I've been doing all that stuff again is because I'm lowkey starting to go crazy about the prevalence of AI on the internet. I read AI 2027 and it became increasingly apparent to me that the future is not with AI, so each time I come across AI-generated content, I immediately recoil. This gut reaction has caused me to dislike Every Single social media platform, since AI-generated content is Everywhere on there.
That's about all for now, but I will try and keep this more updated than I have been (whoopsies). I didn't mean to leave this dormant for nearly a whole year, I've just had a LOT going on and haven't been able to do this little project anymore.
